Trouble Receiving Emails from Form Builder

Form Builder sends emails to you as the admin as well as to the person filling out the form if you have turned on form notifications. Form Builder does an excellent job sending valid emails that are well received by most email platforms. If you don't seem to be receiving the notifications, here are some things to do to make sure you are receiving the emails.

1. Delay Notifications Until Paid
If you are receiving payments, in the payment settings, there is an option to delay notifications until payment is made. If you have this box checked, you won't receive notifications on unpaid forms.

2. Check Your Spam Folder
It is possible the email went to your spam folder. Please check your spam or trash. If you find the email there, try to mark it as "not spam" if your email program allows. The emails are emailed from: mailer@forms-db.com

4. Leave the default FROM email address.
Make sure you have not changed the default send from email address in the notification area or in any form logic emails you are sending. Here is a screenshot showing what to leave in place: https://www.screencast.com/t/pQIyzvlqwn1

The emails need to be FROM mailer@forms-db.com because that is the server that is sending the emails. If you change the FROM address you actually increase the chance of email programs rejecting the email.

4. Make sure Confirmation Email Address Field Exists
The confirmation email is the email that is sent to the person filling out the form. Sometimes when you make a form, you might change or alter the original field that was used to collect the user's email address, thus disconnecting the confirmation email field. 5. Check the "Your Email Address" Field
Check the field for the notification email that is sent to you as the admin. Make sure only commas are used to separate multiple email addresses. Check that the email address you use is a real email address. Sometimes typos or extra characters are accidentally inserted.

6. Check Your Form Logic
Sometimes the emails are not sent or the form produces an error because of an error in the form logic.

7. Conduct Tests:
a) Try entering another email address and see if you can receive at that other address. This may help verify where the trouble lies.

b) If testing confirmation emails to the user, you may need create a test payment of $0.50 to easily test confirmations after a payment.

7. Whitelist our servers
Many email programs will allow you to white list or "allow" email from certain addresses or servers. The primary email that is sending the emails is mailer@forms-db.com ..  So, please make sure you white list this address. In addition, the email path includes the below servers and IP addresses. If you have the ability to do so, you can white list the below addressses as well:

  • mailer@forms-db.com
  • filter0181p3mdw1.sendgrid.net
  • web4u.forms-db.com
  • ec2-54-84-223-102.compute-1.amazonaws.com
  • 54.84.223.102
  • ismtpd0006p1iad2.sendgrid.net
