Prayer/Discussion Wall - Why Social Media Sign In?

Log in Only / Privacy
The Prayer Wall or Discussion Wall does require the user to sign in with a Facebook or Twitter Account. However, nothing will be posted to Facebook, Twitter, or Google Account. Facebook, Twitter, and Google have created a system which allows other companies to use their sign in process as a simple and effective way to add sign ins to other apps and programs. We use their sign in process for the Prayer/Discussion Wall feature for a few reasons.

Simplicity
By using an existing and populate account like Facebook, Twitter, or Google, we eliminate the need for the app user to create another username/password for the app. Users are often overwhelmed by the number of usernames/passwords they must maintain, and we didn't want your app to be another one of those programs.

Identity = Built in Filtering
By requiring a login that is connected to a real Facebook, Google or Twitter account, the user making the post has a real identity associated with their posts in most cases. Their post will be posted with the name/photo they use for Facebook/Twitter/Google. As such, the likelihood of an inappropriate post is dramatically reduced. If the user were allowed to quickly make a username/password for the app, there was be less transparency and inappropriate posting would be easier. If there were no username/password, inappropriate posting would be very easy.

Deleting Posts
Nevertheless, should you need to remove a post for any reason, you can do that through the app editor. Go to the main content area and click on the prayer or discussion wall. Then as you look through the list of posts, there is a "x" next to each post which can be pressed to remove that post.

Alternatives

1. Prayer Request Form
If you feel that such a larger base of your app users do not have Facebook or Twitter but you'd still like to offer a prayer wall, you could instead use the "email contact" widget/feature to create a simple prayer request form. The results of the form will be emailed to you and will not be posted to the app like with the Prayer Wall. But, this method does allow a way for anyone to submit a prayer request. You can learn more about adding forms the app here: https://onlinesupporthelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/223619088-Forms-in-the-App

2. Sign Up By Email / Account Creation
We can make it so that posts can be made to the prayer wall by the user creating an account for the app. However, when we turn this feature on, it will ask the user to create the account when the app is launched. The user can "skip" the account creation, but unless you really want to collect info on who is using the app, we don't recommend turning on the ability to create accounts by email.
